For any of you
who might be thinking of coming to Asia, I thought I would comment on bathrooms.
Facilities have improved significantly, and typically the more money you spend,
the more likely the bathroom will look like the ones at home. However, it is likely that you
will encounter the “real” Asian toilet as I did at the bus terminal in Hua Hin.
Using an Asian
toilet requires a little technique as well as good balance, good knees and
flexibility. Then too you have to be accepting of a little mould and perhaps the
occasional cockroach. Although I have to say, I didn't see any such insects in
this one.
